Spacer — ESA

ESA is E-Props' carbon spacer system for direct-drive installations — the same exclusive approach as the ESU spacer on E-Props' other ranges, adapted to Lycoming, Continental and equivalent engines.

E-Props hub and ESA carbon spacer assembly
Description

A carbon spacer, built into the hub

The ESA spacer positions the propeller relative to the engine, at the length your installation requires. It is a carbon part of the hub itself — not a bolted-on aluminum add-on — which keeps assembly simple and avoids the extra screws and stacks that often cause vibration.

Mass Gain

13 times lighter than aluminum

Carbon ESA

1.5 g/mm
including screws and bolts

Standard Aluminum Spacer

20 g/mm
including screws and bolts

Example: a 120 mm extension weighs about 0.18 kg in carbon versus roughly 2.4 kg in aluminum — a difference of over 2 kg on that extension alone.

Available Lengths

From -15 to 230 mm, in 5 mm increments

E-Props' automatic production process cuts each ESA spacer to the exact length your installation needs.

ASCALON mounts directly on the engine flange — no intermediate adapter plate. Bolt pattern (4", SAE1, SAE2 AN6, SAE2 AN8) is matched to your engine when you order.

Never cut an E-Props ESA spacer. It is designed and manufactured for a defined length — cutting it destroys its mechanical strength. It is strictly forbidden to fly with an ESA spacer that has been cut.
